Luxluc
A friend of mine is looking for brakes for his Mazda RX8 turbo. He is fixed on the K-Sport 6 pot 355 mm kit. Not knowing the kit, what are the opinions??

Luxluc
Like most things in this world, its cheap for reason, you pay for what you get... Yep ... I told him to go for the Stoptech's as I am very happy with mine. Unfortunately, Bob cannot get "TUV" papers for Stoptech's for the RX8. For my Supra, it's no problem as it's been consructed before 2002, the year they changed MOT regulations. On post 2002 cars (like the Rex), you need to have specific "TUV" papers in order to pass MOT. But I continue trying getting him off the K-Sport's
Luxluc
Has his turbo arrived yet! No I got a first sign of the US company 4 weeks ago. They are still working on it. The base turbo is a Garrett GT 3071 unit, but they have to do a lot of modifications in order to have a perfect fit with the downpipe / manifold that came with the GReddy kit that's on now. The idea is to safe (you ) a lot of time having a clean fit. I hope we'll pass at your's before winter. Luc

Luxluc
They must be doing a lot of modifications to it! Hope they do ... as we paid for that. Having spoken to US guys who have got the kit on their Rex's, they say it bolts directly on the existing parts that come with the GReddy kit, which isn't the case at all when you order the Garrett turbo (GT 3071) separately. Everybody advised to go this route ... although everybody admits that it takes time to get everything together ... but those who have it on their cars say it's worth waiting (400 bhp is a realistic figure) ... so that's what we do
