hadyn
Is it possible to clean the inside of intake plenum in situ on the car? I've had a peek inside with the intercooler hose off and there its traces of oil and mild crud in there from all the years. Is it possible to put a bit of carb cleaner etc in there to clean it out or maybe just do it by hand with a cloth? Any ideas?
Tricky-Ricky
I wouldn't, you never know what your going to dislodge, best take it off, if its just a bit of oil and black discolouration, i wouldn't worry too much.
hadyn
Thats all it is Ricky. I gave the lip a quick clean with a rag and left it at that.
Chris Wilson
Leave it, you can make things worse very easily. The intake of a turbo engine will ALWAYS have some oil and dark deposits, it's just the nature of the beast.
