Guest vipprotuning
hi, I´ve fitted an hks fcd and it doesn´t work at all and its screwed up the car, it goes with less power and i think its no good, or it was badly set up, i don´t know. The thing i´ve uninstalled the hks fcd and the car is running as bad as it was with the fcd connected. What can i do????
legendswraith
Define badly? Does it feel like you are at boost cut all the time? Have you reset the ECU to see if that cures the initial problems you have after the FCD removal? Did you use the right FCD for the application? Is it a non vvti or a vvti model. Auto or manual? jacko
Is the FCD on the correct setting?
jamesmark
The first thing that went wrong is you fitted the HKS unit, they are not a good FCD and can be dangerous for the car as it removes fuel cut totally. iirc the HKS does not need setting? I may be wrong though. There is a fitting guide on http://www.mkiv.com that may confirm if it does or not. As above, more info re how the car is running. Have you checked to see what error codes are stored? That should be the first thing to check. error codes
legendswraith
Depends on which one i think. The auto one i used was dip switches and i have seen a version with a potentiometer on it.
