Guigsy
might me worth catching this on the +1 chan. This guy has lost both engines in a 767 (i think). He has no cockpit instruments. No flaps. And only enough hydrolics to move the main control surfaces. Cant make it to the closest runway so is landing on an ex military runway he trained at 15 years ago. He is going too fast for landing so scrubbed speed without looseing hight by doing a move that gliders do that nobody has ever done in an airliner. A powerslide esentialy. Oh and did i mention that the landing strip he is going to land on is no longer a landing strip... Its a drag strip. And its a raceday... Imagine that happening at the pod They all live as they are giving interviews on the show. But still... WOW.
Lbm
The mistake I make repeatedly, is to start watching these, days before I go away on holiday

SupraStar 3000
Funny how we all race at santapod on the runway and completely forget 60yrs ago, young airmen were dying landing damaged aircraft on that very same spot during the war, not to mention those that never returned. Silverstone too.

Scott
is this the pilot that used to fly drugs in? He had to learn to fly at night with nothing on and so when the time came he knew what to do?
Guigsy
Nope. he was just a regular airline pilot with air canada.
Scott
Nope. he was just a regular airline pilot with air canada. No, you misunderstand. There was an airline pilot who, in a previous career, used to fly drugs in "under the radar". He left that business behind and forgot all about it till the fateful day when his whole navigation system failed along with the engines. After a few years he explained how he "instinctively" knew what to do.
Guigsy
No, i dont misunderstand I understand you perfectly. This wasnt that guy. He knew what to do because he also flew gliders. Although he had never done it.
