The reduction in both unsprung weight and overall vehicle weight would be fairly significant. Chris Wilson Posted July 13, 2009 Share Posted July 13, 2009 Forging rear hubs and machining them will be *extremely* expensive. Many suspension bits are already alloy though. The forged steel lower arms are made for strength, an alloy equivalent probably wouldn't be a great deal lighter, if made to be as strong and impact resilient. The GTR Skylines had alloy rear hubs, the GTS-t ones have steel. I converted my car, but it was far from simple. No Supra MKIV had alloy bottom arms.
