csa
One of the guys over here is having at bit of problems with he's bpu us spec and I promised to a post in here since I'm not really familiar with bpu's, only ever had singles. Well, the car is a 99 us spec tt manual with fmic, stock pump, injecotors ect. got a 3" complete decat, fcd and greddy ebc. recently he had an aftermarket fuelpress regulator installed as he's mechanic recomended this. It's been set to 42 psi with vacuum hose off, at warm idle. But efter installing this he's only getting 0,9 bar regardless how high he turns that greddy ebc. However, before the fuelpress reg install he got 1.1 bar and it wouldn't go above. So yesterday he had a boostleak test performed and fix a minor issue, but it did't help. Should be said, I don't know if theres a BCC on the car, but id feels smooth to drive, mind a little short of power when will the factory boostcut set in, and would it be noticeable, or would it just hold the boost steady. thanks guys
Steve
Stock fuel pressure is around 36-38psi static IIRC. Has the car got a AFR gauge?
csa
no, it doesn't, but I've allready told him to buy one ;-) would it run richer with higher fuelpress or would the ecu figure things out?
Steve
The stock ecu already runs quite rich anyway, so with the higher fuel pressure I would imagine it would be even richer. I would go back to the stock fuel pressure regulator Edited July 13, 2009 by Steve (see edit history)
csa
...but surely the fuelpress reg can't cause the boost to descrease?
