Meko
Does anybody know of any insurance companies that do a second car discount? Currently with Admiral and they're charging £500 for the Supra but when i went to add a 318i onto it they wanted £650 as a single car policy matching my no claims, or £397 to have a multicar policy. If i do a search on the comparison sites i can get the BM insured for around the £200 mark with my 6 years NCB but it's no use as i can only use it on one car. If i try with 0 NCB it comes out at around £500. Just requested a quote from Adrian Flux on the Supra and put in 0 NCB, it asked if it was a second car so i'll see what that comes back with and see if it works out cheaper to cancel my existing policy... but does anybody know of any places that will match an NCB or do a decent introductory bonus? cheers
Guigsy
IIRC these multicar policies are a bit of a con in some ways. If you ever insure the supra seperately the no claims where its been under the multicar policy wont count.
Meko
The Supra was the main car with the NCB and the BM is the second car so the Supra would keep it. Pretty much forgotten about the multicar option as it's crap but trying to find somebody who'll take an existing NCB into consideration seeing as i can only drive one car at a time. If i can find a specialist insurer who'll do the Supra at a decent price i'd rather cancel the policy and take out two; the BM was free so i don't want to spend too much insuring it. Guest pdj
Had the the same problem with my supra. Have done a deal with Direct Line, transfer all my ncd's to the supra then took out another policy for my works van and it cost me £60 extra for the van. I also got 1 year free ncb as an intro offer on the van. Looked at many insurance companies and Direct Line were the cheapest!!! Hope this helps
danhicks22
I had my Supra with Bell last year when I got a second car. They mirrored my no claims onto a second policy so I had 2 policies with their own discount. Supra is now with Greenlight on 3 years and the second car will be on 3 years in December. Meko
i've never had a decent quote from Direct Line, that's if they ever decide to quote me... for ome reason they've never wanted to. on the comparison sites, Bell keep coming back saying they won't insure me because of my age..
