n boost
My mrs punto had an oil leak from the sump of her car, so decided i would change the sump myself:( Now i have removed all bolts and the fecking sealer and the sump is loose and hanging but in can not get it out! If anyone knows the procedure please help and the car is a 2000 1.2 8 valve. I can not tell where the little basket is catching and is really peeing me off! Thanks in advance. p.s FIAT...failure in automotive technology.
absz
not worked on fiats but it might be the oil pickup strainer, can you see the pipe when sump is lowered slightly if so you might be able to undo the bolts holding it on. have done this on other vehicles before. RobD
Have you took the little metal plate that sits at the bottom off the bell housing off and the crank pully? This makes it a lot easier to remove, it catches on the oil stainer be carefully not to break it!

RobD
Dont need to take the manifold off at all! Done a fair few sumps on them and not once taking the manifold off!
