Tourniquet
I guess from their point of view. It all makes perfect common sense to me. More boots on the ground more chance of winning. Once won then do the good stuff - how can you lay bricks while being shot at ?!?! That's why such a huge portion of money given goes to SF and the like to protect the workers who even then get killed and/or naff off after having enough. IMO secure then repair. What you call pointless crap is what they consider their home, they see foreign armies (who used to be allies) attacking them so you should expect them to defend their $#@! hole of a homeland, right; they are losing people and so are we. As explained by m45sey, it's not their home. By pointless crap I meant at the time the likes of arguements bout who owns a donkey being settled by everyone going home and getting thoroughly tooled up then meeting in a field and blasting ten shades out of each other. I also think the honour killings are disgusting. The reason troops can't interfere with woman being boofed etc is due to the death of a child at the start of the conflict. She was given a hiding by her asshole dad for talking to troops. The next time they saw the girl she was black and blue so a couple of the lads waited for him and gave him a hiding and he ran and grabbed his daughter and slit her throat - that's not a bit of culture that's murder ! Whats the purpose of sending poor innocent kids in uniform to their death anyway? What is it that we are trying to achieve and why? Listen to the words of One By One by Alterbridge, I think it sums it up perfectly - fighting for a promised land that may not be won ! I feel sorry for the families that have to go through losing their sons and daughters. I agree Are there some pipelines somewhere that we are trying to secure? Probaby. Al Murray pointed out how we drew nice borders round oil fields that we found but weren't looking for and neither were they and how we gave them nice exotic names like Syria etc and they're still not happy ! lol Rest in Peace. regardless of what ever the reason, situation, politics, religions these men gave up their lives for their country, a very noble cause. I feel for their family and friends. Well put matey.
