Means you got 1 normal exhaust system with cats etc. and an bypass system without anything. You can switch between them manually. SteveR Posted July 7, 2009 Share Posted July 7, 2009 There are valves you can get to direct exhaust between 2 different systems (TRD even do one I think)... but I don't know of anyone who's got one. I wouldn't mind having a setup like that for my screamer pipe, it's been welded back in to the downpipe so it's as quiet as possible for track day noise limits... but I do miss the unmuffled banshee scream sometimes. I plan to run a back to back test on the rolling road to see if there any gains gains to had between a relatively open pipe vs. a Nur SPec with additional silencing. Problem here is: If you drive without any cats its more than illegal ^^ You just smell the co2 coming out of your muffler IF you drive with cats you achieve, obviously, less HP. So i thought of adding a second exhaust system without any cats, muffler etc. for just HP gains. Meaning if you need the power (annoying bmw/mercedes on autobahn) you just switch the exhaust system and gain up to 380bhp for instant. If you drive normal (cat exhaust) you would have the standard 330bhp. Honestly i dont know if thats really wise in relation to weight/power. All TT engines have a superb ceramic diverter valve in the sequential set up, a salvaged one should be corrosion, leak and seizure proof.
