Meko
So.... there i was on Saturday night, wondering if i should go to bed as it had gone midnight, and an email from Freecycle drops in. I liked the look of it and hit reply and ask for it, half an hour later i get a reply saying it's mine if i want it and when can i collect. 9:30pm last night i became the owner of a free '97, R reg, BMW 318i with half leather interior and 119,000 on the clock. all that needs doing is a bloody good valet and the oil sump repairing. result! JamieP
Result, ive heard about it a few times now, one of my mates got a load of block paving free on there, enough to do his small drive.
Meko
the car has to be my best one, especially with them hitting a grand on ebay. but i've also had a 4ft fish tank with wooden stand, exercise bike, lawn mower and weights bench.
JustGav
Excellent... Freecycle really is a damn good idea, I've had allsorts from it recently. From a new sofa to a 42U data cab
Meko
fortunately i've never seen a data cab come on my local one but if one did i'd probably have it, even though i've no servers to put in one.. it'd give me an excuse to buy some though. Hobgoblin
Its great, I got a petrol strimmer yesterday, took me about 15 minutes to fix it.
stevie_b
Whenever I've looked on it, all I've found is tat (e.g. free to a good home, old stained T-shirt with holes in it. Collection only). Do you folks sign up to only your local one, or a variety of them? I guess the nice stuff goes quickly does it?
tbourner
Whenever I've asked for stuff I never get replies, they must just go to other people all the time. I did get a tall freezer from there though, which is still working away in the shed even in this hot weather!
caseys
Freecycle really is a damn good idea, I've had allsorts from it recently. From a new sofa to a 42U data cab And I thought I was joking a while back about you having a rack underneath the stairs. Or is it going to become some sort of redneck/geeky contraption and not actually used to house your FW/NAS/Network kit? EDIT: Free cycle is good. The missus has got rid of plenty of stuff that we'd have otherwise had to hulk down the tip. If you can't sell it for cash on ebay, whack it on Freecycle if you can't get it to the tip/charity shop. Thinking about it I bet charity shops don't like freecyle
