Hi Everyone,

Sadly time for my TVR Chimaera to go :(

It is a 1996 N reg TVR Chimaera 400. The car is Ruby Mica Red and has covered 85k. The car has the original TVR Owners handbook a full TVR / TVR Specialist Service history with the bills and MOT’s to accompany. The stamps show as follows:

The car has the later T5 Borg Warner Gearbox, and serpentine engine. The official figures for the 4.0 V8 engine are 240bhp, 270 lb/ft Torque and a claimed 0-60 in 4.7 secs and Max Speed of 152 MPH. The car is very good condition as is the paintwork. The car been lovingly maintained, used regularly covering an average of 6,000 miles a year so no worries of usual TVR sitting problems. The chassis has been treated and wax oiled regularly, and shows no signs of rot on chassis outriggers (which are a common fault). The car has Grey Doe leather Seats, and still sports the original 5-spoke TVR alloys that are fitted with Bridgestone S02 tyres all round (as recommended as per factory spec). The car has been kept and maintained irrelative of cost. I spent a lot of time looking for a TVR Chimaera and this is the one I settled on and have no regrets. I have spent a lot of time and money ensuring this car is properly maintained, and replacing aging parts to ensure keeping this car in as best a condition as possible. The car is in completely original condition and even has the car’s Original Pioneer Tape Deck Stereo. The car also has Power Steering, and the usual comforts of Electric Window’s, Electric Heated Mirrors, and Central Locking. The car has factory fitted Cat 1 alarm.

Best Points

• Car does not suffer usual ‘Hot Start’ problems

• Although I usually keep the car is under a Car Cover to preserve its condition, the car does not have any water leaks. This is a common TVR fault, however I spent a lot of time chasing and resolving these.

• Car has not been abused or used for Track Use.

• No Overheating, car temperature reaches and maintains 70 oC and just below 30psi Oil Pressure as it should when car has warmed up.

• Car has original Tool Kit, Roof Cover, Spare Wheel, and Spare Wheel Cover in boot. All in very good condition (actually unsure if they have ever been used!)

• The Fantastic sound of the V8 engine of course ;)

Not so Good Points:

• Although the wheels are in very good condition, no curbing marks, but they could possibly require re-powder blasting to further bring out the great condition of the car. A Minor point but I considered worth mentioning.

• A small hole in the Mesh in the front bumper of the car gained via a stone off the road. Again this is a Minor Point.

• A small patch of carpet at bottom of driver side footwell was replaced as was severely marked. Replaced with original TVR carpet, but being Brand New compared to Original supplied with car you can see the difference in colour (deeper green). At very end of footwell so you can see anyway, but again worth mentioning.

This car is a very clean of an example, has Tax until March 2010, and MOT until April 2010 (of which the last one it flew through!). No Canvassers or Timewasters! No Test Drives without appropriate Insurance coverage. I am looking for a straight forward cash sale, but I won’t rule out considering a cheap Part-Ex (up to around £2k value) against my car with rest money my way.

Any more details please PM me.
