Wazz72
My other half has a Renault Megane Soft Top, Shes justtaken it in for its MOT to a local Garage and its failed on the following: 1) Ofside CSV Joint gaiter Split. 2) Nearside Outer front Anti Roll Bar rubber mounting deteriorated, resulting in excessive movement. 3) Nearside Inner front Anti Roll Bar rubber mounting deteriorated, resulting in excessive movement. 4) Offside Outer front Anti Roll Bar rubber mounting deteriorated, resulting in excessive movement. 5) Offside Inner front Anti Roll Bar rubber mounting deteriorated, resulting in excessive movement. 6) Front Brakes Imbalanced 7) Offside front brake disk(s) contaminated by grease The garage has said that the bill will be around £300 to fix these, They then dropped it to £250. I thought that was a bit expensive to fix the front bushes, and a leaky CV joint. Just wondering if anyone else can give e a rough price that she should be paying? Thanks Warren. David Reid
The CV boot is going to be a bithc to do and could take a few hours, the other bits are reasonable. All in I dont think its a bad price
Wazz72
Just rang a local garage who said the bushes are about £5 each (you need 4) the CSV should be around £10 - £15. Should come to under £150 No the other price of £250 - £300 did not include the test fee. If I had have taken the car in I would have told them where to go. Unfortunatley it was my missus who knows nothing about cars. The garage in question should be happy with themselves, as they have just lost our business in the future which is 6 cars. Guest P13SST
Id say 200 tops, they must be charging them all as separate jobs. Shop about, if you can get the work done somewhere else say 150 + 50 for the mot go for it!, teach the greedy gits a lesson
Wazz72
Had it redone at a Nearer garage that I used to use for the Supe, They did the work for £145 inc £27 for a retest fee. Thought the first one was a bit much.
