RobSheffield
A friend of mine is getting debt recovery letters based on parking tickets for a car that belongs to her ex boyfriend who used to live with her. Whats the correct course of action to prevent Bailiffs turning up? Assuming they do, am i right in saying that they wont be able to remove her own property? Any further advice? If he owns the car then his registration is invalid as he is claiming to live at an address he doesn't. Nothing to worry about for your friend, tell her to call them for a chat and explain the situation. If the car is in her name then it can get a little messy. Well yes but the most important thing is for her to call whoever is pursuing the collection to explain the situation. If its the DVLA issuing the tickets then ask her to call them up and explain the whole situation. I'm sure they will be quite accommodating
n boost
If the baliffs turn up make sure u she dont let them in and that she goes outside to their car to talk to them. If she gives them permission to come in than they can remove stuff but otherwise they can't unless they get a court order. Also dont leave any windows open for them to get access.
