Finding The Engine Size in an Ariel Atom

Recommended Posts

I went on an Ariel Atom today on a track which was a gift, via 6th gear experience. Although the Atom was fast, it wasn't breath taking fast, especially after watching Clackson test drive one on Top Gear. They told me it was 325 bhp, ie the supercharged version. I never heard the supercharger whine.

I have the reg of the car I went in and would like to know what engine size is registered for that car, and if it's supercharged. Can anyone help please.

The reg is WA05NUY

Thanks bud.

Did they text you again after? Ie did they subscribe you to a service?

Only issue with that service is that it wasn't very accurate for you :(

I never received anything after the two texts they sent me.

And i guess they were inacurate for me was that mine is an import but it worked fine for my other two cars and the one i went to look at for a mate

According to the Vehicle Enquiry on the DVLA website it's 1998cc. The registration document won't record whether it's supercharged.

Thanks Gareth, that was the link I was looking for.

it a 2.0l engine from a dc5 integra and the supercharger is from jackson racing and if im right in saying an optional extra

I'm wondering whether they upgrade the brakes as part of the supercharger package as the 2 pots weren't very good :(

They should be running a 2.0 K20a from a Honda Civic Type R! The standard version with just this engine alone, should be very very quick! The Supercharger one should be even more quick...infact you sure you couldnt not heard the Supercharger whine because maybe you was screaming while booting it round the track?!?! :p

I did an Atom day and they were the 160hp versions, we had three cars, red, green and yellow. Not massively quick on the straights but you didnt really need to slow down for the corners which was great. So much grip its crazy.

I've driven quite a few fast cars in my time, so I know what 'fast' is all about :D
