Guest Budz86
Hi guys, car has just fail it's MOT because the power steering is leaking. I know where the leak is and just need to replace a hose, but can't find the part number on the toyodiy. I can see the hose that needs changing and have marked it in the pic below. Any idea's on the part number or name of the hose? The reason it's leaking is because of the fitting on the end highest up (if that makes sense!) at the moment it has a self tightening clip and a jubilee clip securing it, I've been told it should be a bonded fitting? Thanks in advance Dean Edited July 4, 2009 by Budz86 (see edit history)
danger_supe
hi man, part numbers you might be able to find using this http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/
Guest Budz86
Checked this already, but for some reason the hose that I want hasn't got a part number!
Scooter
It's possible the part no 44403 is a single part............if it is then it looks like it could be a fair few quid.............possibly need a used section or a specialist power steering/rack company to refit the hose fitting. pistonbroke
can you not just get some new 10mm interior diameter hose (proper stuff for holding PS fluid), and some new clips.?
heckler
can you not just get some new 10mm interior diameter hose (proper stuff for holding PS fluid), and some new clips.? can't see why not, its on the low pressure/return side

Guest Budz86
I was under the impression that it was on the high pressure side so would need special 'bonded' fitting's. Just spoke to Steve Manley and he informed me if it is on the H/P side then you can't just buy the pipe from Toyota, and the kit is over £300! I almost died! I'm going to try and run the car down to a plant hire place near me that also do hydraulic line fixing's so hopefully they can fix it for me. Like I say, it only needs to be attatched properly to stop it leaking.

Guest Budz86
Nice one guys. I took it down to a hydraulic's specialist today and they are pretty happy they can replace the pipe and swage the end's to prevent it leaking. Just got to take it off now, with the connectors so they can do the work. So onto my next question... What is the best way to drain the system?
