Little host name help

Scott

Recommended Posts

Ok i've got a hostname that i've had for a while I'm looking to change the webspace that it points to but i'm not really sure how to go about it.

My site addy is http://www.scotster.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk

I've logged into the site that has my domain name but i don't know how to point it at the above site. It asks for Nameserver & Nameserver IP.

Does this mean i can't use it with my blueydoner webspace?

I make your site domain IP to be 194.117.143.85, you will need to forward all requests for "yourdomain.com" to your blueyonder site. You will need a third party company to host your own domain name, they will then be able to forward all queries to it to any domain you like.

e.g

You have just bought the domain joebloggs.com

The Domain will need to be hosted in order for it to be found, this is done by associating an IP address to it etc (This is done by the hosting company)

You can then ask the Hosting company to forward all requests to joebloggs.com be forwarded to http://www.scotster.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk

Log into your Telivo account and hunt around for the option to forward queries to your domain to another domain etc. Alternatively, raise a ticket with Telivo technical support and let them know what you want to do and they should be able to make the changes for you.

Good Luck!
