Jake
What makes you think it might not be an import? Slow spooling turbos?
Bill Prawn
Bonnet scoop
Jake
Bonnet scoop My (import) RZ has a bonnet scoop, and glass lights, and UK brakes.
Bobbeh
Rear lights, lack of horns? What else is there.. oh the bumper should be a nice shape and the front number plate large etc. Dont forget the front active spoiler. Anyway, why do you think its not an import? Chances are that it is.

Digsy
Well it has Jap import tail lights, and a Jap rear bumper judging by the shape of the number plate. DOH. One minute too late

JohnA
.. Is there any quick and easy ways i can tell? What reg is it? UK ones were only 93-96, weren't they? If it's got the air mass meter it must be UK I'd think, nobody would fit intentionally a flow restrictor (although people do fit airfilters with active area 1/5th of the stock element)

Chances are that it is. Its got a button for the active front spoiler, but it aint there. I think the previous owner had a kit on it, so had to remove it

The Hornet
Possible uk brake upgraded
Alex
The VIN plate will tell you...if it starts with an E then it's J-spec If it starts JZA then it's UK.
cashpoint
The seller gains nothing in saying it's a JSpec but that would gain saying it's UK. So as it was sold as a J Spec i'd say it's a J-Spec.
JohnA
Its got a cloth interior = J-Spec Yeah, all UK models had full leather, didn't they?
cashpoint
Yeah, all UK models had full leather, didn't they? Yup but so do GZ's
stevie_b
I think the headlight-washing horns are one of the clinchers. Haven't heard anyone fitting them to a J-Spec. Mind you, that wouldn't stop UK owners from removing them.
Samurai446
Its got a cloth interior = J-Spec Cloth front seats, leather rear
Digsy
It's a J-spec. Definately. The rear seat is fake leather, by the way.
Jake
Cloth front seats, leather rear Vinyl rear seats more likely
