stevie_b
What method do you use for cleaning bird poo from a car? My fiesta got pebble-dashed by birds yesterday. When it dries it really adheres to the paintwork, so I thought I'd try one of those non-scratching scourer pads. Bad idea: swirl marks and faint scratching aplenty on the car bonnet, and a "Fail" for me. Or do you use an ice-scraper?
Paul372
hot water softens it up then just wipe off
Frank Bullitt
Warm water on a cloth, sit it on top of the the bird poo, leave for 5 mins and wipe it off. Might need to give it a quick polish where the poo's been as it's like acid to paint work HTH
michael
Soak a cloth with hot water and car shampoo and lay it over the splats, remove carefully, rinse cloth and repeat until soaked fully. Then soak the whole car in soap, leave it to sit for as long as it stays wet and then rinse gently. Sounds like you've already made a mess though so you might as well just blast it off and concentrate on scratch removal
bigbloodyturbo
Whatever you do don't try and sponge it, I tried this and I regretted it. I got told on here to lay a hot cloth over it untill it softens then try and gently loosen it, this works well for me. -edit- beat me to it michael

Guest VeilsideSupra
I usually try and find the bird that did it and curl one out in its nest.

Guest Budz86
Meguire's detailing spray works quite well. Spray on, leave for 30 seconds, wipe off with a microfible or workshop towel then buff with a clean mircofibre. All this is now standard issue in my glovebox
mathew
i parked my car a few days ago under a load of trees. returned the next morning to find some of the most impressive bird poo i have ever seen on it. i should have taken pics as you really had to see it to believe it. there was all sorts of colours and textures but the most impressive one was that on the bonnet. it was about 3inches across, very dark brown and had 3 nuts perfectley placed in the centre and had set solid along with all the other bird poo. headed off the the tesco jet wash and even that couldnt get it off. Hermit
Use warm water and your girlfriends flannel That would work! Main thing is to soak it and to pick it up off the paint rather than wiping it. I use toilet paper (NOT paper kitchen towels, they scratch) and detailing spray, or a super-strong mix of water and car shampoo depending on how long it's been on there. The paper/cloth/flannel/knickers/whatever helps to keep it damp for a while. I don't like birds, especially that magpie that perched on my spoiler
