bigcol
Towards the end it would have to be the old tongue and wrist then as you can't have it slow on vinegar and i know the very girl you are on about, she says "hi" and when are you visiting next

ClaireRZ-S
Yes, every time they put in a stronger wire it aches for about 2-3 days afterwards, it is painful to eat and generally not nice. Look on the bright side though, if you can't eat anything, think of it as a diet! I have had fixed braces top and bottom in for about 15 months now. In the new year i go in for an operation to have my lower jaw broken and moved forward about 8-9mm. It will be then joined together with titanium plates. This is then followed by another 6-7 months of fixed braces to re-align my bite. By the way i'm 32. I applied to have the work done when i was 24. It took the NHS 7 years to find a surgeon to do the operation! When all this is all completed i'm doing a Richard Hammond and having my teeth whitened and then booking in a top class restaurant for the biggest steak dinner the world has ever seen!! So, well done on getting the braces claire! It will be worth it in the end. Or so everyone keeps telling me!! jesus lad your getting some amount of work done fair fecks to ya. Everyone has said oh your teeth arent bad but the one tooth really badly pushed in annoys me and i can see it in photos. They told me to my jaw is a bit out at the bottom also but said that only dentists would notice it . I bet you cant wait till there off i only have them three days and i want them off, today was a good day though the pain wasn't as bad and i can see my bad tooth starting to come out so im happy

As with yourself, I had an underbite of about 9mm, and now I have titanium! I felt like a completely new person when the braces finally came off months after the surgery. I was quite inhibited before, but these days I'm slightly extrovert. BTW, the jaw surgery was nowhere near as painful as having impacted wisdom teeth removed... also while still wearing the fixed brace. So don't worry about the operation; it'll be a breeze. I'm so glad someone else knows what it's like. I do find that i lack in confidence and i hope this will go some way to sorting it out. I'm just looking forward to being able to smile. It may sound simple, but i've not been able to smile with confidence for many years. People do notice and i have had many people say that i come across as being miserable. Not true, but it is amazing how much it affects peoples opinions of you! Thanks for the low down on the operation! How long were you in hospital for? Oh, and more importantly, how long can i blag off work?

Sorry to go OT but I've just found out I've got a bilateral cross bite and a TMJ? I will probably have to have jaw surgery - is that something similar? I will probably have to have jaw surgery - is that something similar? Bilateral cross bite can often be corrected with braces, but needs surgery if it's more severe. I'm guessing your TMJ is a result of the cross bite. So, presumably, once the bite is aligned correctly, the jaw strain will naturally go away. I'm not sure what kind of surgery is required to reshape the jaw like this. With my surgery it was extension; yours would be more about reshaping. I don't really know enough to comment, so I would suggest you get more details from your orthodontist.

Just seeing if anyone had anything similar. Thanks for your reply.

But when they were finally removed it felt left like I had huge rubber lips Oo BJ's are fine just be gentle

DanBEXsupra
took about 3 days for mine to stop being sore. i was 14 when i had them on, had them off by the time i was 16. was a relief lol, when you go back they will tighten them, but the pain dulls down quicker as youve had them on holding the teeth in a diffrerent position already
Suprash
Either that or it will just make a right mess in your braces lol
