Missfire

It's going into the garage on Tuesday so hopefuly the problem will be sorted. I just had a thought with regards to the engine light- would this feature still be present on a Blitz Access ECU? Or could this explain why no light comes on when i try to read the error codes?

Ive found out why i couldnt read the fault codes - the soldering has had it on the little light cluster with the engine light on it - so i tweaked the wires and got it to work. Just got a regular flash, so no fault codes stored

I had a really annoying missfire issue when i had mine a while back...Heres the tests that i did...

Changed Spark Plugs

Inspect the threads that the spark plugs sit in and make sure nothing is stuck in there and check the general surroundings.

Change the coil pack clips

Compression test all cylinders

Run the engine at night with the spark plug cover off and look for any visible sparks where the spark could be shorting out somewhere

Inspect coil packs-This is when i found the problem on mine...

Tiny little cracks on a few of the shafts, So i cleaned up all of the coil packs and put araldite into all of the cracks and then coated the outside in electrical insulating gel. That fixed the problem in mine, basically the spark was shorting out through the cracks at high RPM.
