Chris Wilson
These have to be a rare sight, I have never found ANY internal photos on the web. So if you ever wondered what a 3 litre Formula 3000 500 BHP N/A looks like under the cam covers, here you go: http://www.chriswilson.tv/mugen/mugen.html Note the asymmetric cam lobe profiles, particularly on the exhaust cams, and the finger followers to change the lift ratio from a direct acting cam's 1 to 1. Chris Wilson
I did, sorry Wez. You just need two adjustable C spanners for the Bilstein spring perch lock rings. You can adjust camber and castor at the track, and toe, the official w/shop manual lists how much the geo changes for each graduation, but it's fiddly and a nightmare on your back. Toe is the straightforward one. You might try about 2mm front toe out in the wet.
bigbloodyturbo
That is a beautiful engine, I am incredibly envious (not of the valve spring bill right enough), you are a very very lucky guy. Even if you don't get to run it too often, I bet it was nearly worth the money alone to go out to the garage for a smoke and just look at it:)
Wez
Amazing bit of kit.

jevansio
Chris, what is the tea like liquid in this shot, is it oil? Reason I ask my mate just took his head off to be tested after removing the cam covers & discovering his oil was like that, there was nothing wrong with his head so I assume it's normal? Chris Wilson
It's oil, I am having a sample analysed as I don't like the look of it either They have wet liners, maybe a liner seal is leaking? It held 25 psi in the cooling system prior to running it though... Time will tell
jevansio
Oh right, I'll let him know, he has suspected oil into water or vica versa issues at the moment too, good luck getting it sorted
