pedrosixfour
What I find depressing is that it is easier to source a roll cage for a Volvo 240, 242 & 244 than it is for a Supra. I have a 244 sitting under the trees outside if anyone is interested in a project!!!! And no, I am not a fan, much.
Chris Wilson
If it was a 242 I'd be on my way now Rubi roll cage, now they were a wor of art. All alloy (now illegal for FIA racing) with left and right threaded unions to tension the shell. Those were the days!
pedrosixfour
I could always reverse it into a skip at a spirited rate and convert it to a 242. Either that or I would need to repair the skip.
Need4Speed
I remember those cars from the Silverstone TT. VERY quiet. Wasn't there some story of homologation in the US and Volvo moving cars from east to west so they could be counted twice?

Wasn't there some story of homologation in the US and Volvo moving cars from east to west so they could be counted twice? I don't recall that, but such was fairly commonplace to meet the homologation figures. They did do some with thin glass, and the alloy live back axle with negative camber was mooted as a bit suspect. The seller is looking for offers over 50,000 Euros for it as a rolling chassis (no engine). I think that's very optimistic, maybe one of the RAS cars as a runner with some spares would make that sort of money though.
Need4Speed
It's the RAS cars I remember. I've got the programme from the meeting somewhere. 1985 and the era of the Walkinshaw Rovers? 50K€ is OTT with no motor.
pedrosixfour
Do you have any pics? Imagine a green garden shed on four spindly wheels and you'll get the idea!
Need4Speed
Imagine a green garden shed on four spindly wheels and you'll get the idea! So to clarify; you haven't got a RAS Sport 242 Turbo in your garden:D

pedrosixfour
So to clarify; you haven't got a RAS Sport 242 Turbo in your garden:D That'd be a 2 door shed with an extra large chimney I assume. If so, then no.

sc_dragon
Imagine a green garden shed on four spindly wheels and you'll get the idea! My dad used to have a 244 dl. I've always wanted to find one and restore it for him.
