Matt H
Not been to that particular place in Turkey, but Turkey has always been generally cheap, and they're not in the Euro either which is a bonus at the moment with exchange rates.
R Black
I know Turkey is generally cheaper than most places between there and the UK.
stevie_b
I've been to Kasadasi a couple of years ago, but only for a flying visit. It's very near to Ephesus, which is well worth a visit. A month ago I went to Marmaris which is further east than Kusadasi. I'd recommend Turkey generally. Nice people, good food. Just be polite but firm with shopkeepers if you're not interested in what they're selling.
_Lynz_
We've been to Turkey twice last time was in May this year. It's a really lovely place and would recommend it. We were all inclusive so not sure how much food and drink was. Don't expect it to be cheap though because we didn't find it to be, they seem to have cottoned on to the fact that the Euro is rubbish and so most things were priced in Euros. Just be prepared to barter and in my case still walk away cause some stuff is far too expensive.

stevie_b
Don't go for a Turkish massage their hands go everywhere !! bewarned. Sounds like you asked for a massage with a happy ending! I had a Turkish massage: my guy was pretty vigorous, and made me squeal at one point (due to a sore shoulder, just in case anyone's in any doubt!). imi
I love Turkey, more of an Istanbul person myself (so much culture, history, architecture, etc) rather than a resort kinda guy. People are great though and food excellent.
hogmaw
Don't go for a Turkish massage their hands go everywhere !! bewarned. Unlucky mate! IMO you should deffo do a Turkish massage. They are famed for it and you will feel cleaner and more invigorated than you ever have been before!
miles
Got back from marmaris last friday. The weather was really good the whole time we were there. I wouldn't say it was that cheap but definitely cheaper than anywhere using the euro. Turkish massage was pretty rough but you feel very clean after. Wouldnt have wanted to be a girl in there though there very pervy!
stevie_b
Got back from marmaris last friday. Where did you stay? We stayed in a hotel actually between Marmaris and Ichmeler.

bignum
I went to marmaris last year and even though it was a decent holiday, weather, food, place etc, i wouldn`t go back, i found the turks far to pushy trying to get you into their restuarants and it wasn`t cheap at all, for a meal for 4 it easily worked out the same as here if not more. Carl_S
Depends whos the masseur, If it's a kebab shop style despot with a thick mustache, then no no. Or if its a svelte turkish goddess, then hell yeah. Mind you, depends what you like. Im sure both would get their customers. Not that I approve of "massage" for money.
miles
Where did you stay? We stayed in a hotel actually between Marmaris and Ichmeler. I stayed in the Hotel/apartments Ilayda about a 3min bus journey from the Harbor. Did you go on any of the Jeep safaris or Boat trips. The Market on our last day was absolutely hectic! erol_h
turkey is a nice place there is alot to do there have been there loads of times you just go to becareful becuase they see you coming. Always haggle with the c*nts they love to try and rip you off how many times i would ask the price in english and then again in turkish and they would drop the price. They're not cnuts just because they haggle. I wish more people would haggle in this country, there is no such thing as a fixed price IMO. stevie_b
I stayed in the Hotel/apartments Ilayda about a 3min bus journey from the Harbor. Did you go on any of the Jeep safaris or Boat trips. The Market on our last day was absolutely hectic! We did a boat trip to a mud/sulphur bath, then on to the turtle beach on the Med and the cliff tomb carvings. We were going to go to either the Marmaris or Ichmeler market, but we'd had enough of shopkeepers trying to drag us into their shops the previous day! Always haggle with the c*nts they love to try and rip you off how many times i would ask the price in english and then again in turkish and they would drop the price. That's harsh. Haggling with tourists is just a way of life for them. I don't particularly like haggling, but that's just how they operate. If you think you might be buying something in particular over there (lots of jewelery shops for example), try to find out the price you'd pay in the UK before you go. That should prevent you from being tucked up. Difficult to do for anything other than planned purchases though.

Carl & Ric, quite correct, I hadn't thought it through And Erol, I'm with the others on this, I suspect they're not cnuts, but I take your point about the haggling I've never been to Turkey Claire (only Greece) however all my friends who have been thoroughly recommend it
