Guest suprasutty
I have a 93 N/A and have changed the cam belt and tensioner over a month ago and all was well untill the last few days. It now has developed a rattle from the front of the engine and on closer inspection appears to be from the auxillary belt tensioner pulley, I can get hold of the belt and pull it up and there appears to be no resistance from the pulley. Is this tensioner obtainable and if so who will have one as it annoys me having a rattle.

Is your car a manual or an auto as there's more than one on the epc for the auto depending on when the car was made?

Scooter
how is the steering? still power assisted? if so the belt can't be that loose and the tensioner be that knackered. You could remove the belt (if you have 14mm spanner) and fire up the engine breifly to see if the noise goes and then check all the pulleys for roughness/noises. Guest suprasutty
I was going to try this tonight, only other thing I`ve been thinking is if the new cam belt tensioner bearing has failed.
