Wez
Hey All, Do you prefer trackday and car videos with or without music? I think music is OK aslong as you can hear the engine over the backing track.
JamieP
Without, id rather hear what the car is doing:)
michael
Depends on the music and how much car I can hear over it really.
martini
Usually without... unless I like the song. Ideally - do both!
Tom
I normally add music to the vids I make but I always decrease the sound level of it in whatever program I'm using so it's more of a background noise There are so many vids out there where the music is the same sound level as the car's which gets irritating
Stonkin
Engine sounds are more important than music, but doesnt hurt to have the right track quietly in the background
Wez
How about tracks in the background like Prodigy (slam), Pendulam etc on a low volume compared to the engine noise?
Tom
yep thats what I'd go for
Ark
No music. If I want to hear music while watching your car video, I'll turn on the stereo with my choice of tunes.

AlexM
Without. I've heard Jamie's choice of music in his videos, it's not nice.
martini
How about tracks in the background like Prodigy (slam), Pendulam etc on a low volume compared to the engine noise? That's fine, but has to be quiet in relation to the engine. Videos with just music are a bit poop.
Tom
Without. I've heard Jamie's choice of music in his videos, it's not nice. all of them have been where he leaves his stereo on though, normally "sweet home alabama" but the crap version

Supradoopa
I'd rather hear what the engine was doing aswell.
Gaz6002
Depends how interesting the video is TBH
Carl_S
if it's short and sweet, under two mins say, then defo music, longer than that no music. Also more you edit it and change shots, more music is necessary too.
Wez
if it's short and sweet, under two mins say, then defo music, longer than that no music. That highlights another question, how long should videos be, would a single video showing a 15+ min sessions be too long and therefore split into smaller clips? JamieP
That highlights another question, how long should videos be, would a single video showing a 15+ min sessions be too long and therefore split into smaller clips? If you are planing uploading to Youtube they only let you do 10 min videos.
Carl_S
Unless we are analysing the track performance of once car in detail, then short clips are the way forward, and more entertaining. (0.5 sec to 1 min)
j_jza80
No music please, especially in a video with such a nice sounding car!
Luxluc
I like the sound of the car ... no need for additionnal music imo.
