Relay for Life - Pot gets physical for charity...

It's true... I'm taking part in the 'Relay for Life' for Cancer Research in Yate this weekend, it's a 24 hour team event where someone must be on the track at any one time, and at the moment I think we're looking at about 3 to 4 hours of track time each...

For me that's going to be a mighty tough effort, as I'm not sure if they've set up a bar anywhere near the track...

Anyhow, what this charity needs is donations, however big or small, I would say make big ones so I don't disappoint many people, but I don't want to, they say you can walk but I think some running will be in order (And will probably create the funniest youtube video ever ;))...

Donate what you want to, the more the merrier!...

The link is http://www.donatetomyrelay.org/sirpotsworth , and everything is much appreciated :)

Thanks,

Stu

50 Views so far :) - But no donations :( - Please drop a few quid in, it's nice and easy, is going towards a good cause :) - And you can leave trying to run round a track in a heatwave whilst madly unfit to me :)

Cheers for the donation mate :) - Sorry I haven't been back on sooner, recovering from the weekend!...

It went really well, there was a fantastic turnout, and whilst the counting still continues, the total has passed £30k :)

Fun was had by everyone, there was plenty of spirit for those lapping through the early hours (I finished my shift at 2.45am and got a few hours kip until I started again at 8am), credit has to go to one fella who spent over 20 hours on the track dressed as a builder, complete with tea mug, although he had something a lot stronger than earl grey keeping him going! (It didn't help much with his direction though :D)

I even attempted that 'running' thing? Can't understand what all the fuss is over that... Why go through the pain when all it seems to do is hurt!... lol

I haven't totalled up exactly how far I went yet, they had a system where you got a bead for each lap you did (400m), but I haven't counted them up yet, all I know is I've finally just got some feeling back into my feet :)
