halllon
I need to replace one of the rear drive shafts on a car that originated as a 1995 non-turbo auto MKIV. Obviously this car has the small diff housing. Can I use a rear drive shaft from a 1993 twin-turbo manual which has the large diff housing? Thanks in advance! halllon
BTW, it's the right side rear drive shaft which needs a replacement.
Homer
AFAIK It will depend on whether the car had ABS fitted as standard. If it didn't then I don't think the an ABS driveshaft will fit. Edited to add - if it's the drivers side driveshaft from a pre-facelift 6spd it will not fit. These are very rare and sought after, but do not fit to any other model apart from those with the large diff and early 6spd hub.
halllon
Cheers Homer, it seems there are quite a handful different drive shafts. I guess I will have to try to chase down an axle from an NA car.
