hhmm So why was I feeling pain I don't understand, she gave me 3 injections and the only thing that seemed to be numb was my tong.

I had two fillings a while ago. The right side of my mouth was totally numb, but I could still kind of feel the left side and it took 3 injections until I was happy enough for the dentist to continue.

The price that you pay for this crap is so high that I think I am entitled to say "oi, that f**king hurts" and make them sort it.

ha ha I know, The thing is, my dentist was telling me it wasn't pain I was feeling but pressure!!!! COME ON I'm sure we know if we're feeling bloody pain or not.

I'm not a complete pussy, I went in expecting slight pain but not the sort of pain she put me through.

Bring on the sedation, knowing my luck it won't work and I'll feel everything hahahaha

There is no Pain that is worse then Tooth Ache. Even giving Birth is less Painful, I did that twice and would do it again before having a Tooth Ache lol

Your rite there, I think I took a wrong move last night, the abscess was really big & felt horrible in my mouth, so I looked on line for some help and it said you can peirce them with a needle to relieve the pressure.

So thats what I did, got one of mummy's needles out of her sowing kit, lit the end with a lighter & just pricked the side of the abscess, the relief was lovely, but the crap that came out of it wasn't:shock: the pain went instantly though.

Trouble is it doesn't look to clever today & it's a bit sore. I'll wait to see if it comes back then I'll go get some antibiotics AGAIN :(

The fact you didn't receive a temporary filling is appalling. I'm now in my 4th year (going onto my 5th and final year) studying Dentistry and even as a student you should know not to leave a job like that half done especially if the follow up treatment may not be for some time. If I was you I would book another appointment and demand a temporary filling. Leaving a cavity that is prone to food packing will only result in an infection if not cared for correctly. She should know better considering that you have previously presented with an infection and been on medication as a result.

Whatever happens, DO NOT use a temporary filling kit. That's only going to make it worse as you will not be able to remove all of the food debris prior to filling and then after filling, anything that has been left behind will increase the risk of infection again. Those sort of kits are a joke.

I must admit that extractions are either easy (i.e - no complications) or hard, there seems to be no middle ground. You have to bare in mind that a tooth is set firmly within the gum with plenty if connective tissue to hold it in place, so trying to pull it out without breaking it is a challenge. Its still wrong of her to fob you off for a longer, more complicated procedure when there is normally a more simple route to take in those situations.

I think you should find another dentist. I can't imagine how anyone could administer 3 nerve blocks and have the patient still complain of pain? She sounds like a complete idiot.

Hi Viv.Agree with you completely about leaving a cavity open taking the history into account. And yes some extractions can be a challenge. That is why you have to inform your patient beforehand of all the possible outcomes before you proceed with the extraction. This way they can make an informed decision whether they still want to go ahead.Your last remark "She sounds like a complete idiot" may well be true mate, but be careful what you say on public forums. It only takes one word to hit the nerve with people these days and they run to take legal action against you.Anyways...Good Luck with the studies:thumbs:

supra-lover...sorry to hear about your experience mate.Hope you get it sorted soon.
