Al Massey
About five grands worth.... Well if the Royal Mint is willing to pay £50 for each dateless 20p that is a total of £1.25 million. Now does this really seem real? Considering we are in a recession? Or are they just producing money to help the economy?
benkei
Well if the Royal Mint is willing to pay £50 for each dateless 20p that is a total of £1.25 million. Now does this really seem real? Considering we are in a recession? Or are they just producing money to help the economy? I presume they will sell them privately to collectors and make a profit, thus generating more money for themselves.

Blackie
It is the new ones without a date, but only some of them, (very few of them), the rest of them they actually made correctly with the dates on! Doh! How can you tell if they are old or new with no date?

Suprash
Jesus people, ready the page that was linked, it tells you how to spot them clearly Yes there was around 5,000 or 15,000 of these coins, but well over half have been returned already. I would advise if you have one of these coins now, keep it until Christmas..... The last time the Royal Mint made an error like this was about 300 years ago, hence why these coins are so sought after...... But they will genuinly go for around a couple of hundred pounds on Ebay, coin collectors are in a frenzy currently... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/20P-COIN-UNDATED-VERY-RARE-VERY-COLLECTABLE_W0QQitemZ260439735673QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Coins_BritishDecimal_RL?hash=item3ca36afd79&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1688%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50
Al Massey
Yes there was around 5,000 or 15,000 of these coins I think you will find there is at least 25,000 coins as on the website they had 10,000 applications available but then due to demand they added another 15,000 applications so therefore the minimum coins in circulation is 25,000.
