michael
Seems more like a cunning plan for the mint to collect names so they can sell their coin collections to people who aren't very good at reading the small print on things.
Abz
I dont really understand why they would be worth £50 to them, is this to compensate us? I looked through my change and noticed two 2p's which were both made in 1971!!!
tbourner
They're said to be worth 'ABOUT' £50 by coin collectors, due to the rarity. I don't know anything about that website offering £50 to the first 10,000 people who register though, wouldn't trust that! //EDIT: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/south_east/8123749.stm experts saying the coins could be worth up to £50 each

Al Massey
London mint wont give you any money. They will pass your information onto collectors who may buy these off you. And they are not rare at all.
