SMiFFAD
Afternoon all... Yesterday at Brands my already broken and fixed rad has broken again... so i think it's time for a new'un! Ive found this place through the forum: http://www.carcooling.co.uk/catalog/Toyota_Supra_86_99-1217-1.html[/url] All well and good, but they have two thicknesses and two prices... 25mm or 41mm. Does anyone know the thickness of a stock rad core on an auto TT? (i'm not just being lazy - i'm at work and the cars at home, and i want to get it ordered today )
SteveR
"It depends" is the answer. Toyota fitted 2 thicknesses to te SUpra during it's production life. Most NAs (pre & post facelift) have the thinner rad Most Pre-Facelift TTs have the thicker rad Lots of Facelift TTs have the thinner rad. The only way to found out what you should be fitting, is to measure yours. The mounting point, cowling, fans, etc are all different dependng on rad type. I remember putting a later rad in my early SX a few years ago, and it was about half the thickness.... giving the impression thicker possibly isn't better I will have to get the ruler out when i get home!
