Your Supra, daily driver or a weekend/occiasional treat?

Just thought I'd ask how many fellow owners use their Supra as their main car/daily driver and how many use it for weekend or occasional treats?

I personally have a 328i which I have had for years, so I'm using that as a run around. My C70 is my motorway cruiser and the 996T (shared with father) only goes out once in a blue moon. The Supra was a stroke of luck that came up and i just had to buy it, so I try to give it the odd run once every 2 weeks for motorway journeys.

Trying to only use it at the weekend, got an FTO as well which I would use mainly for daily driving but I normally cycle or train it to work.

Did 500 miles this weekend from London to Chesterfield (a detour to Peterborough and Northampton on the way!). Drove brilliantly,

though if I was to drive it everyday I would go for an NA.

Wish there is a way to stop the turbo's spooling while on the motorway...would save us fuel and stop the turbo over working!

I'd like to cruise along at 80 on 3k.

When do the turbos kick in?

I find 3krpm at 80mph is a bit of a sweet spot for my N/A. The exhaust doesn't drone as much as if it's at 60 or 70, which is going to make me deaf to those sound levels if I am not careful! :D

God I love this car.

My stock TT made zero boost cruising at 100mph. It's not under significant load under those circumstances (vs what it's capable of!), so the turbos aren't really doing that much. Have you got a boost gauge?

I would have a boost gauge, but due to spending £2.5k on an engagement ring I am bankrupt my friend!

I realised you dont get as much boost going through the turbo's in that speed as you dont plant your foot down

but just slightly dab down on the pedal, but I can hear what sounds like the turbo spooling up (as in whistling away).

Plan is to get a boost gauge next month along with some other monitoring toys!

Oh Martini, first turbo kicks in around 2k, motorway traveling is fun though in Supe!

Use a little 306 deisel for a run around

There must be half a dozen on this forum with a 306 as their daily-driver. Me, Burna, Mawby, you, RedM (or rawscratch or whatever his flash new username is ;))...

I want a 'fastest 306' competition & award at SupraPod! :D

Mine is my daily but, i dont use it for work

so its to the gym during the week and the

odd trip on the weekend, i dont do much mileage,

if i dont like an area i take girlies RAV.

Furthest ive driven was Blackpool and back

which took a tad over a tank.

Mine was a daily driver originally but I couldn't afford to keep spending £80 a week on petrol so I got myself a little Clio 1.5DCI and the Supra's now a weekend treat and I enjoy driving it more now than when I spent all of my time in it stuck in rush hour traffic.

Plus my fuel costs make me smile a bit more these days.....

Supra - 220 miles out of a tank

Clio - 600+ miles out of a tank........ it's easy to see why really :D

Fantastic thread.

Normally i use it as a treat because i walk, jog or cycle to work.

But recently i have been driving because i need treats and because i feel rich.

Its awsome. And i am still in love with my car. Other people love it too. Someone said it looked like and arrow today.
