I have an astra 1.7dti estate (company car). My dad has given me his 1979 capri 3.0s.He's had it for 24 years. Has only 31,000 genuine miles on the clock, though I'm thinking of selling it as I need the garage for my supra.

Oh and its yellow :eyebrows:

make sure you get a very very good price for the capri if you do sell it, because the 3.litre versions are the MUST have accessory in the classic car world at the moment, you might be better off selling it to some one in the capri club.

cheers.

Thanks for the advice Rush. Not only is it low milage, is is immaculate for the year. I once heard there were only five yellow 3.0l s going around-and that were a few years ago. I'm not a member of the capri club so I've no idea on price-found three on ebay but they're all in need of restoration.

I picked mine up for about 800 about 2 years ago but then it needed a lot of welding and the interior was in bad nick.

Ended up selling up for 1200 BUT it was a bit rough round the edges but mint MK1 3.0 can go for scary money.

I'm not a Capri expert but if they are forking out over 4k for the 280 brooklands and aslo going totally mental for mk2 escorts (you seen the price they go for!) then you should get a good price for it.

As mentioned I'd check out the Capri clubs, classic cars are such a fickle thing and hard to value, best money would be had from a capri nut :)

Good Luck

Todd

PS, any photos?
