Vacum references

Recommended Posts

When I fitted the single with the veilside manifold I've struggled for references. I have everything conected apart from the bov and boost control solnoid.

If I drill and tap the turbo compressor housing with 1/8npt and fit a -3an can I use this for a vacum for the boost solnoid and the bov.

Cheers

John

I don't know the reason for it but have always been advised to take the BOV reference from a damped line from the intake manifold, rather than the compressor.

The reference for the boost solenoid must be taken from the compressor

The BOV needs to be connected after the throttle body as it relies on the vacum of the engine to open it. :)

Bov should be in the manifold, the boost solenoid can be on the turbo.

You should have a vac line going to the side port of your wastegate, T the solenoid in to that.

I've got a braided line running around the back of the engine to she same vac take off as the pas pump. I added the bov to it also and it wouldn't work as if there was too much going to the 1 reference.

Does the vac line I/d effect the amount of references your able to take from 1 place.
