waste gate controll

could someone just confirm that the vsv for the wastegate on a std TT is there just to stop wastegate creep,

when vsv is open it bleeds air back to the intake so keeping the waste gate shut for longer,

the reason for writing this is that i had a boost spike problem, now sorted, the person who fitted my evc left in the vsv valve and pipework, removed all this and replumbed my evc. just that i noticed that one of the air tube connections to the wastegate had a restriction in it, i assume that the restricted one was the outlet back to the inlet of the turbo? so that the pressure can build up on the diaphragm with the vsv open. is this so if not could someone point me in the right direction for information etc, i am just curious.

regards chris.

Thanks steve, i have already read that, it was from that article that i could see that the waste gate was connected back into the inlet, i assummed it was there to vent pressure from the wastegate. as far as i can see pressure to the wastegate comes direct from the turbo outlet side, so if the vsv for the wastegate stops working it that it does alter the boost curve.

regards chris.
