lexsum
Early indications are massaging the possible 'pain killier' addiction but would we say the same of Pete Doherty? or would we just cut to the quick and say 'junkie'?
MrRalphMan
I think that there is a difference between choosing to inject an illegal drug to gain pleasure and being injected a legal prescription drug by your doctor. They might have both been addicted or been dependent of their choice of drug, but I don't think you can class MJ as a junkie.
jamesmark
There is a big difference from between addictions to prescription drugs to addiction to non prescription drugs (illegal). As usual it is something that could be quite innocent is being spiced up by the media and gossip sites.

Ian W
I miss him Oh behave, b'have! What's to miss? It's a shame for anyone to pass away but really what is there to miss, what would he have actually done in the past couple of days that would have made the slightest difference to your life? As much of a tool Michael Jackson was, I don't think it's fair that he, or anyone else for that matter, should ever be likened to Pete Doherty. That guy is weapons grade @rsehole. benkei
We all know how the population loves a bit of gossip! And who better to whip everyone up into a frenzy than the good old media! What recession?
lexsum
Yeah if it were not for the doctors on the news i'd blame the press. As for prescription drugs you would not get opiates on the nhs without a clinical need. An addiction to opiates is just that no matter who you are or how rich you are. Lbm
Splendid - a Michael Jackson thread. And so it begins again... Are alchoholics junkies then as they're addicted to another form of drug? Same for smokers? Alchohol is technically a drug Hello. Me again. In a sense, I'd say yes to the "are alcoholics junkies?" question.

Branners
hey folks, remember the last thread got locked because you couldnt be nice about somebody who has died and left his children fatherless? There is a thread for the jokes in the NWS section, I no longer want to hear anybody's views on what Michael Jackson was or wasnt.
