bigbloodyturbo Posted June 26, 2009 Share Posted June 26, 2009 The purple tint off range rovers (and bm's and merc's) comes from the lens not the lamp. OE for nearly all standard fitment HID's are 4300 as thats the most efficient heat and you get more lumens of light out than at any other kelvin. If you want the twinkly purple effect and still put out a decent amount of light at 35w then you have to retrofit OE projectors from something that had them as standard. I only converted the diped beams and found that I rarely need to use main beam now as the dips are so good, so probably wont bother upgrading them.
