siriusprojects
Hi Guys and Gals, As I may have said, I have a J-Spec 1993 Supra SZ. I have seen many threads on here regarding the seats and, yes, the backseat of my supra is some Vinyl stuff trying to pass itself off as leather, and the fronts are cloth. Ideally I would like to match up the front and back seats and would be happy with either vinyl or leather. I am currently not sure what the best option will be. My first thought was to simply try and locate a set of Supra Front Seats in Leather/Vinyl which I could just swap with the old ones. The other option was to look at other after-market seats that are available or looking into these trimming kits that you can buy. I'd like to smarten up the backseats as well, if I could, but it all really comes down to how much it will cost and which way will be the best to go. What are your thoughts on this? Jake
You won't find any Supra front seats in vinyl, they don't exist. Go for a retrim by Gibson And Boyne if you can afford it. A search on this forum for 'Gibson And Boyne' should give you all the info you need.
kosmic
Isn't the original idea of having cloth seats upfront is to stop sliding around when cornering etc...?? i may be wrong...
imi
never had a problem with my leather seats

I've seen a few vinyl seats in the flesh, until you're really up close theres little difference with real leather
SupraStar 3000
Gibson And Boyne seats are highly recommended by quite a few members here including myself. Elliot
I've been thinking of upgrading my cloth seats for a while now too. Is it a simple swap over from cloth to leather? Everyone talks about the G&B seats, which look awesome, but I can't remember anyone talking about how much they are...
Guest Supersonic
Has anyone, whilst upgrading their seats, ever had the correct holes placed in them for using a harness?? Or is that a modification/change too far?
Ian W
Or is that a modification/change too far? i think so mate. if you wanted a harness you would probably just get a new 'bucket' seat with ready-made, reinforced holes in it. I think Wayne (Supradibbs) is going to be doing a group-buy on retrims soon (on an exchange basis as well)

SupraStar 3000
yep, Thanks lockys. Gray alcantara, black leather and white edging. The alcantara is exceptionally hard wearing. Still looks like new.

Fronts backs door cards with extra piping around the edges and across the back on both the fronts and the backs set me back about £1400. Fantastic job though ask the new owner gruggs he'll tell ya. http://www.gandbtrimming.co.uk/supra3.htm
