Whaddya guys think ?? They are Denso plugs, but with an HKS part number and logo. I sell some special NGK colder grade plugs, e-mail me direct for info [email protected] My personal opinion of the HKS filters is unprintable, and i feel the stock air box and filter is none restrictive and works perfectly on both N/A and TT's, even fairly highly modded TT's. Alex
Whilst I echo Chris' thoughts on the pod filters if you really want one, then IMO the best type are the cotton gauze mesh ones....the K&N being the best known reliable one....the Apex'i unit is also well rated and I believe has a higher flow rate than the K&N but that may be at the cost of filtration. sky
so ..should I hang on to my K&N one or change it . .to Apexi ? or HKS ?
Chris Wilson
Originally posted by skywater so ..should I hang on to my K&N one or change it . .to Apexi ? or HKS ? I am assuming you currently have a K&N panel filter in the stock air filter box? If so, either stick with it or just use a stock paper filter element. IMO you will get zero gains from a K&N over a clean paper filter. I wouldn't touch a filter that replaces the stock air box myself, feel they are badly engineered ands a retrograde step. I am fairly unique in this matter though, but adamant nonetheless :-)

Need4Speed
Chris I agree with your view on air filters (you are not alone). I'm sure the primary reason for cones/K&Ns etc. is looks and noise. Also these types of filter all take their air from under the bonnet, where it's hot. Last but not least, where's the performance gain per pound spent. Terminator
In warm weather its perfomance lost per ££ spent.
