Fallout 3 - Point Lookout - Out today for XBox360 :)

Point Lookout takes place in the Fallout equivalent of Point Lookout State Park[3], a new swampland area with new quests and enemies. Point Lookout in the Fallout setting is supposedly more of a "seaside vacation town with a boardwalk" and said to have a larger landscape between one sixth and one fifth the size of the Capital Wasteland[4] where "the bombs didn't actually fall, but the world has left it behind". Being designed by Joel Burgess and Nate Purkeypile, it has been stated it will have a "swampy-horror vibe"[3] and will be the most open-ended of all add-ons[5].

Point Lookout will be playable before finishing the main quest, much like Operation: Anchorage and The Pitt, which can be played immediately upon exiting Vault 101. You'll receive a radio transmission that initially starts the quest The Local Flavor. As with previous add-ons, the main questline is said to add about 3 to 4 hours worth of game time[4].

Followers cannot follow you to Point Lookout, but you will be able to travel back to the Capital Wasteland via the Duchess Gambit anytime after arriving, which means you can spend as much time as you like exploring, and still head back home when need be. This is the second add-on to allow players to break away from the quest line after starting, the first being Broken Steel.

Several side-quests found in Point Lookout include investigating a woman named Consance Blackhall who has an obsession with the local cult, helping to gather ingredients for a tonic for a swamp denizen who's sick, and aiding a child who's been badly mutated from years of living off of the swamp water.[6].

When is DLC coming out for PS3? :search:

I bought the Windows version of fallout 3 as I don't own a 360. Installed XP on a partion, installed the bloody dotnet framework update for the latest version of Microsoft Live and it trashed my Fallout 3 install :( Even after an uninstall, reboot and removing every trace of fallout 3 on the registry it wouldn't reinstall so had to install XP again then fallout!

Wondering if I should try again and possibly shaft my XP partition again

The rumour is end of the year ;)

..also a 'game of the year edition' should be on it's way, featuring all five DLCss - not sure the release for that yet? I'll probably buy it again for PS3 just to play through again as a bad ass this time :eyebrows:

It's probably easier just to buy an XBox :D

Quite a good little expansion with some interesting characters - Desmond is funny.

Best mission is definitely velvet curtain.

A couple of bugs for me, a few times it took ages to load when leaving a building and it also just crashed once or twice.

Frame rate drops right down near the mansion too.
