How do you connect a laptop to broadband?

Dude you don't need to register for email and webspace each time

You just need to attempt to connect to the internet once router is all connected and you can connect to it (ping it or log on to it)

then you need to go to the registration IP address, which I haven't got with me unfortunately, but you can get it from tech support if you ask for the ip address to register another machine for NTL broadband

You can't get to this site from the main NTL site where you keep registering

you shouldn't be registering on the main site otherwise as you say you'll have loads of email addys and webspace etc

Right!!

Over a year on and we're now ready to connect our wireless network! :D

Luckily we now have the external NTL box with the RJ-45 lead into the PC, rather than the cable set-top box routine.

So does that mean I can get this:

Plug the NTL external 'cable modem' into the router, plug my current PC ethernet cable into the router, and plug the wireless PCMCIA card into the laptop and away I go?

What set up is likely and is it easy? Done via the PC? I have the firewall etc. on the PC already but assume it's better to set up the router firewall as well (for the laptop)?
