Robert
I appreciate your comments but thats not the object of this thread, just after some input to try and get the issue resolve. Please dont take it the wrong way. Just want to get it resolved No fair play mate, just thought if you wanted it sorted out and by people who know what they are doing, maybe it should have gone back. Yeah I appreciate that, and it will be going back its just the distance and arranging it takes time so just looking at things I can check - the simple things if you like So as not to wast Pauls time really. Everyone will be upset if its something simple LOL
absz
the coolant sensor is on the elbow with the two wires. to do a quick earth test just connect a jump lead from the negative of the battery straight onto a metal part of the engine, see if it makes a difference. Cheers Abs, did not think of creating a new ground will give that a go tomorrow night. If I can get hold of a second hand coolant sensor I can test that too, dont suppose anyone has one?? Paul Whiffin
From reading your first post it could now just be an ecu setup issue, seeing as the O2 feedback settings somehow changed on your way home, it could all be out now. We really need it back here or if you know someone up that neck of the woods who knows how to work AEM ecu's to take a look. Or trailer it to Llandow on Saturday and I'll take a look at the map there? First thing I would do is to turn off the O2 feedback and set it up like that to see if the problems dissapear. It wont take long trying that and it could be that simple. Then again it could be something more involved!
T2 MSW
Cheers for the input Paul, Im going to try the things we have discussed, fuel, wiring for the ECU, earth and hopefully a coolant sensor. Do you know if the coil pack connectors were closed up when the clips were replaced, I can check this tomorrow night if not. Also appreciated the offer of looking at the map on Sat - unfortunatly i wont be able to use my dads car as its in wales already
Paul Whiffin
It wont be coil pack connectors, they would have been replaced if brittle or damaged in anyway, you dont need to close them up. I think its an ECU setup issue myself.

Might be worth adding that you'll be at Llandow on Saturday, in case parts can find their way to you there mate.

T2 MSW
Its possible this issue may be power related. Its not an earthing issue as ive connected a jump lead from the engine to the negative battery terminal and it made no difference. However I took the positive feed off cleaned it up and ensured the aftermarket connector I have was correctly attached to the power feed, It was much better and even better still with o2 feed back turned off on the ECU. Does anyone have a stock positive battery connector as the only reason I have a non standard one is because it broke?? Whats even weirder is Ive got an error on my clifford concept 650 with 10 flashes from the warning light when you turn the ignition off - Just looked it up and it indicates a power interupt?? Dr_Doom
Sorry to hear you're having problems with the car Mike.. Hope it's easily sorted! On the issue of the battery connectors you might be right. Did you see the thread where the guy fitted non-standard battery connectors and his car wouldn't run right? But it worked ok with damaged stock ones? Here it is, see post #15 http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=183270 Hope this solves your problem. Does your battery have the large or small terminals?.. I got one for the small terminals from Steve Manley a while ago
