Correct method for installing side mount seats and subframes

Hey All,

Is there a correct method for installing side mount seats and subframes.

I mounted the side rails to the bride subframe and then fitted tghe seat but when I placed it in the car the holes no longer lined up and the slider wasnt working.

I then tried mounting the subframe with the side mounts in the car which was great and everything worked as it should but I then couldnt get the seat in.

By this time my patience was running a little low so decided to give up as it was 1am :(

This morning I came up with the idea of mounting the sidemounts to the seat in the position I want them, then fix to the subframe and then mount in the car, hopefully doing it this way everything will drop into place in a relaxed fashion, wasnt thinking this clearly last night :D

Does this sound right?

Shouldn't make a difference Wez, they are standard across the board, but I'd go for the bride mounts as you've probably paid dearly for them anyway!

Perhaps a spacer/washer between the seat and the mounts might help as the seats taper towards the rear don't they, maybe the Sparco seat taper at a greater/lesser rate the bride seats would and are pulling the bases out of alignment??

This is exactly right, the subframe without the seat mounted fits perfectly.

Right, just had another look at this on the passenger side out of the car, what a PITA.

I can get it to fit with the Sparco sidemounts on the Bride subframe but its a little stiff to move the slider back a forth, with the Bride subframes the seat just doesnt fit. The problem is the seat tappers to the back and the sidemounts dont really account for it so they dont sit on the subframe straight.

I have a set of undrilled alloy sidemounts which I am going to have a look at when I get home.

Pretty much sorted now.

I used the Sparco sidemounts with the Bride subframe and drilled holes in the sidemounts that matched the subframe. Just need to adjust the rear of the chair so it sits lower and gives it a bigger slant.
