Stonkin
After giving the car a good blast back from brighton the other night. I noticed when i got onto some country roads that whenever i go round a right hand bend or roundabout at a reasonable speed i get a rubbing noise from i think the rear passenger side. Almost sounds like the tyre catching the arch but it isnt and it doesnt do it at slow speeds. Ive check the tyres, although not been able to check the inside walls yet and i cant see anything majorly wrong underneath. Suspension heights all appear to be as normal. Although whilst writing this, wheel bearing has come to me. Would that sound like similar symptoms? Thanks,
adnanshah247
its the inner plastic crappy thing! that water shield or damper what ever its called, when you floor it, it moves and rubs the wheels. the wind pushes it.

adnanshah247
trust me, they seem solid but when the air force of 70mph hits them they move like paper! well i had this issue with the front wheels, not so sure about the rears.
Stonkin
but, that would do it in a straight line mate, this is only during right hand corners?
Chris Wilson
None stock wheels and tyres? Sounds like a tyre clearance issue to me...

Stonkin
Funny you should say that Kev, it all happened on a first journey out with a new young lady. It was after getting over her excitement of the car on the m23 that i joined some back roads and noticed the rubbing. But large, she isnt so a bit miffed. Didnt get a chance to investigate last night, too busy with other things
Stonkin
Just taken it down to kwikfit, i know i know, just to get it on the ramps. A careful eye over them and they got it up without any issues. But couldnt find anything wrong? Spent a good 20 mins looking around it checking bushes, wheel arch liners, brakes, suspension, subframe etc Took it out and gave it some welly on roundabouts and no noise either. Hate these mystery issues
