RobSheffield
IIRC the rear strip light is a strip of separate LED's

I thought I read some where that early jap N/As had 'fake' lights.... At the meet last weekend no one seemed to think that correct... Did I imagine that? RobSheffield
Some (dont recall that its just NA's) have just the lens iirc, reasonably easy to open it up and have a look EDIT - its unlikely all the LED's have failed, unless its a fuse i would go with the 'empty' theory. Jamesy W
Ric, have a go at dying your own carpet. It will take you no time at all, cost you no more than £20. I'm a total feck up with cars, and managed to do it in a weekend

I'm a total feck up with cars, and managed to do it in a weekend HI Mate. I bought the dye.... problem is that my carpet is a bit of a mess and i'd need to spend some serious time getting it up to a standard where I actually want to dye it! Might be worth considering though mate. Does the dye remain 'fixed' in place? It doesn't start to come off on your shoes etc when it gets wet? Ric Some (dont recall that its just NA's) have just the lens iirc, reasonably easy to open it up and have a look EDIT - its unlikely all the LED's have failed, unless its a fuse i would go with the 'empty' theory. Cheers all re the rear brake light. So I need to check the fuse (you can guess the next question) and if not then I need to get Heckler or someone to make me a pretty new set? Is ti simply a matter of just pulling the cover off or do I need to go at it from inside the boot?

paul mac
i have the rear seats in black leather you could have cheap, i'm in north west Lancashire so not a million miles away
heckler
On the brake strip - they are LED's and they DO fail. The units can be opened up to replace the LED's. The LED rear light has a power feed just after the brake light switch, so if the fuse had gone, none of the brake lights would work.

Just make sure to wear gloves when you do it. My carpet was looking a bit worn before I dyed it, I never even bothered giving it a steam clean, just a quick hoover and a couple layers of dye. Turned out a lot better than it was previously, still got half the dye on the garage floor though
