jevansio
I bought some braided hose (-12 & -10) and fittings for a breather setup & to relocate my idle valve. I am having a massive headache getting it fitted together. When I slide the collar over the hose it is REALLY tight, it goes over with some lubrication & perseverance, but once the collar is over & I come to insert the fitting, it won't go anywhere near being able to start threading the collar & fitting together. I've read the fitting instructions online and it says it is tough but this is nigh on impossible. Can anyone give me any advice. I bought the hose from ebay, is it possible the hose is not upto spec, I thought it was decent stuff at £20 per meter. Also I have bought original & copy connectors but both suffer from the same issues.
absz
You might be pushing the pipe too far into the collar, try pulling it back slightly.

Cheers Abs, you might be right, I've just found this article which says exactly that. WOuld you say this guide is good? http://www.earls.co.uk/earls/technical/Swivel-Seal%20Hose%20Assembly.pdf So far I'm just attempting it by hand (no vice etc). Would you say the vice is essential when pushing the hose on in step 4 so you can get your weight behind you. Perhaps I'm not trying hard enough
absz
I normally use the vice as after doing a couple the fingers get sore:d cover the fitting that gets clamped in the vice with masking tape to prevent damaged and do not over tighten.

jevansio
I've never done it but I seem to recall RobSheffield having issues aswell It was driving me crazy bud. I bought it all thinking it would be plug & play, the breather setup isn't crucial, but I need the idle valve hose doing (obviously ),
