Homer
All I would recommend it to persist at the examples and make a well worded letter to the insurance company showing real world for sale adverts for a similar car (though it seems like you've tried this already). Ask for proof of the valuation they have provided. Can you really find a like-for-like replacement for the money they have offered, if not, fight it. The money they've offered looks like a joke. Which insurance company is it?
erol_h
I was insured with equity red star via adrian flux but i must say both of them are useless. On both offers i had to ring up asking what the hell is going on then they told me instead of contacting me. I also dont like the way they gave me there offer and said they are sending me the cheque. I clearly told them don't send the cheque 4times as i will not accept it but they still did. Ive written a letter today detailing that the car is worth alot more ive also added a few adds from here again stating the price.
supra dan
i think its standard practice to send out the cheque even if you dont agree, it doesnt mean that you accept it. i had a claim with red star a few years ago and after providing adverts and reciepts for mods they upped the offer by £2000. i would keep plugging away with more adverts
