Matt H
I’ve not been getting to the cinema as much as I used to (or would like to), but I’ve noticed that there seems to be somewhat of a drought of really good films released over the past few months - bar a few exceptions. I had a look on the Apple Movie Trailers website last night to see what was in the pipeline and was very pleasantly surprised to find quite a few films that tickled my anticipation gland nicely. Take a look: http://www.apple.com/trailers/ I’d list them as follows: Big ones: - The Hurt Locker - Surveillance - Bruno - Public Enemies - Surrogates - The Road - Food Inc. (Possibly going to be underrated) Quirky – Trailer looks good but we’ll see: - Inglorious Bastards - Shutter Island - Year one Ones to see with the GF: - My Sisters Keeper Kid films for adults too: - 9 - Toy Story 3 - Aliens in the Attic - The lost land Cult – most likely awful but always tempting - The Crypt - H2 (Halloween 2) - The Final Destination (Final Destination 4)

Gaz6002
What no Transformers 2 ? The only film I'd consider going to the cinema to see. I don't get the comment about the "drought with a few exceptions" though. When has it been different?
CarlT67
I saw The Hangover on saturday night, one of the funniest films I have seen I a while, had a packed cinema in total hysterics at parts. Very good entertainment and I recommend.
Matt H
What no Transformers 2 ? Meh, Average to good. Will do well on it's title alone, but not really going to be up there with the other gems that await I don't get the comment about the "drought with a few exceptions" though. When has it been different? Not that there has always been a constant flow of great films since cinema began, just that I have found this current "drought" has gone on for quite a while and there now appears to be a great line up ready to roll out. I remember being able to go to the cinema and there was always something remotely interesting on every 1 to 2 weeks. But not had that in a long time. When has it been different? I dont get what he means either. There has been some cracking films getting released and even more good ones about to be released

There has been some cracking films getting released and even more good ones about to be released Don't get what i mean and don't agree are two very different things. I agree with you though, there have been some cracking films released and there's some great ones on the way, just that the ones on the prior end of the graph have been few and far between IMO... It's all prerogative of course.

RiceRocket
After Transformers the only big movie of the year left is Avatar in December. Although for the still to be released, IMO Moon and 2012 looks good

The Raven
Have you watched the trailers? Just checked them out. Nothing there really really grabs me. I like the look of a few and pending some reviews i might head along to check them out. (hurt locker,Public Enemies,Inglourious Basterds) The latter is probably the best of the bunch IF they can get away from the whole USA won the war alone story that runs in all these war films. (saving ryan i overlooked as it was simply jaw dropping) Transformers 2 is the only sure thing im going to see.

The Raven
Says a lot!! Mindless action with wow factor you know what you are going to get with it turn you brain off at the door and enjoy. The ones you have listed while looking good could turn out to be a big pile of poo.
Mike
Transformers and Avatar for me too... probably Inglorious Bastards too

supra_aero
My point entirely! I am still with ravern though. None of the others really appeal to me bar transformers 2, which will just be for the robots/CGI/Effects and overall wow factor. I don't expect a good story line or acting. O and saw VI is out in october
Matt H
I've done a search for Avatar. All i can find is lot of self produced hype about a chap that says his film is going to revolutionise "the game", and a synopsis that's been there done that and numbs the brain. Nothing i've read appears revolutionary, or is this film going to rely purely on its special effects?

O and saw VI is out in october Yes, our annual Saw offering. lol Keeping with the halloween release date fashion no dought. Shame then had to turn what was one of my all time fav films (the first one), into a Freddy and Jason constant re-hash. Is this the last one or did they plan on 7?
