Just wondered if anyone on here is a fan of the UFC ?

It used to be on Sky Sports for a while until they bottled it and took it off air because it was seen as too offensive, but its been on Bravo for a good while every week night at 11:30pm now.

If anyone is interested, theres a UFC Live in Vegas Meet this Sunday at 10pm on Bravo, Randy Couture -v- Chuck Lidell etc.....thats going to be a monster of a fight.

For those of you who havent seen it..........erm.......its a bit brutal lol but you gotta be a bit :swear: to participate anyway me thinks, and not :limp: lol

Maximum :respekt: to these guys though, some of the matches are OFF THE CHAIN !

Bravo - Sunday - 10pm. Cant wait !

Not a fan but I watch it when its on.

Its different and actually a little more acceptable since they've brought in some rules and pads.

The only thing I dont like about it how many of them chose to go to ground for a wrestling contest. I dont like watching men cuddling eeach other.

Bollucks dude, that shit when they are on the ground is crap, you only have to see some of the half hearted punches they throw, theris no bad intentions in there man.

Agree with Bob K1 is better, nothing beats good ol Boxing tho IMO.

All the real fights are over with punch combos in UFC if you watch.

WWF dudes wouldnt stand a chance, against someone like Rickson Gracie, although he may be getting on a bit now

True stand up fighting is more enjoyable to watch, but but groundfighting is more effective, which is why u will see the groundfighters winning more often than not..hence all the fights going to the floor

As for the half hearted punches, they are only throw them to distract and create openings, cause unlikely to do any damage from the floor due to lack of leverage, unless in the mount position

Real fighters dont let it get into a floor situation, and the first counter always connects, and if it did get into a floor thing, it would be over in like 30 seconds anyway.

What ?????

Have you ever been in a real fight ? lol, since when do real fighters never end up on the ground ?

First counters always connect ??? Thats why all fights dont last past the second punch...........

So if its not over in 30 seconds on the floor its not a real fight............

Guys i think we have an Ex-UFC man here :p

I think the UFC is the only real fighting challenge out there. The K1 has implemented quite a lot of fighter restrictions and is set up more for the spectator (as is in the case for normal boxing).

The UFC was originally a no holds barred one on one dual. (Apart from eye gouging and the old bollox hits).

UFC style fighting is the closest thing you get if you let two guys fight each other with no rules. As what you would get in a street fight.

Having done martial arts myself (3 years of kickboxing and taekwondo) I can appreciate the fitness levels required to do UFC as opposed to the likes of K1.

As with any fights which have any sort of minor rules... when you get two defencise (or counter punchin) fighter you will always have a less entertaining spectacle. But nothing matches the UFC for when you get two aggressive fighters going for it like Chuck Liddel or Tito Ortis.

This upcomming fight between Chuck Liddel and Randy Catour is going ot be very interesting. Randy with an agressive wrestling background against Chuck with his agressive kick boxing background... which style is going to be better? Should be a good fight. I predict Randy Catour. sp?

But street fighting/brawling sucks. Its more of a sport imho when people are upright trying to land killer blows, rather than trying to pin someones arms down so they can pummel them without any sort of defense. I know its skill etc to get into that position, but its just not entertaining for me.
